Board membership

Becoming a Member will allow you to attend and vote at our AGMs and EGM’s. You will also be eligible to stand for election as a board member.

Becoming a voluntary board member is a unique opportunity for you to use your expertise and knowledge to make a difference to people’s lives. Pen yr enfys is part of the seren group and we offer plenty of opportunities for you to become involved as a non-executive board member.

Board members give their time voluntarily and whilst we do not pay a salary, the work can be extremely rewarding. We pay out of pocket expenses, mileage and childcare allowances whilst you’re on official company business.

You will need to attend up to 6 board meetings every year, held early in the evening, plus the occasional ad hoc meetings and training days. Meetings are scheduled a year in advance so you know exactly where you are!

Role of a board member
All board members have statutory obligations to act in a lawful, ethical and justifiable manner. Board Members play an active role in decision making, policy development and monitoring activities. They contribute, as part of a team, to the long term, strategic development and shared vision of the group. They must also demonstrate personal integrity, reliability and maintain confidentiality at al times.
